The President’s Export Council met today – marking significant progress in its third year of efforts to meet the National Export Initiative goal of doubling U.S. exports. President Obama spoke to the group, noting that forging additional new trade deals has to be an important part of U.S. government efforts to spur economic growth and create jobs.

Northrop Grumman Announces CA, Fla, NY Centers of Excellence

Northrop Grumman announced today it is designating five centers of design and integration excellence in support of its Aerospace Systems sector's manned aircraft, unmanned systems and electronic attack businesses. In addition, the company announced plans to close an Information Systems sector facility in Dominguez Hills, Calif.

Success: NBCuniversal Project Gets Final OKs

The NBCUniversal Evolution Plan, a $1.6 billion private-sector investment to expand Universarl Studios theme park and production facilities - and create as many as 35,000 jobs - has received final approval from the LA City Council and LA County Planning Commission.

The BizFed-supported project includes extensive upgrades to the company's movie and television studios, including new sets, soundstages and technology, as well as new hotels, $100 million in transportation improvements and expansions at CityWalk and the theme park.
