Online Center for Jobs & Economy Focuses on Key Data

Today the California Business Roundtable announced the launch of the California Center for Jobs and the Economy. The Center will provide a comprehensive view of California’s employment picture by region as well as by demographics and industry sectors. The website provides a new data tool that allows users to visually see what is occurring in the state with respect to employment, wages, and other economic data across the regions, by county and by State Senate and Assembly districts.

LA City Mayor Announces Appointments

As you know, BizFed is advocating for business community representation at City Hall - we will keep you posted, and in the meantime, here is  the very latest intel on Garcetti Administration appointments.: Mayor Eric Garcetti today announced the appointment of Rick Cole as Deputy Mayor of Budget and Innovation and that he is appointing Mike Davis, Kevin James, Monica Rodriguez, Barbara Romero, and Matt Szabo as Commissioners of the Board of Public Works.

BizFed Chair LaDonna DiCamillo was sworn-in this week as Chair of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. DiCamillo is the director of government affairs for BNSF Railway Company in Los Angeles, working with California communities on the local level and with the legislature to address rail-related issues while improving freight mobility and trade growth. She has been in the railroad business since 1989.
