Fracking Could Boost CA Economy 14%

A recent report from the University of Southern California stated that developing the Golden State's Monterrey Shale oil formation would add nearly 3 million jobs and close to $25 billion in tax revenues by 2020.

BizFed Supports Release of Bay Delta Plan Details

The Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), representing over 100 business organizations with more than 250,000 businesses across the region, strongly supports today’s release of preliminary draft elements of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan as a critical step toward finding a solution to our state’s water crisis.

Today we are pleased to report that the LA County Board of Supervisors voted NOT TO PROCEED with the proposed “Clean Water, Clean Beaches” parcel tax measure. This is a big victory for the business community, and indeed for all of the diverse stakeholders who ultimately concluded that too many problems remained with the proposal.

LA On the Hill: Transportation Issues

Move LA is at the LA Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Los Angeles on the Hill" event in Washington, DC, and funding transportation is once again the key topic for many of the 175 people – including BizFed leaders - who will be there.

The President’s Export Council met today – marking significant progress in its third year of efforts to meet the National Export Initiative goal of doubling U.S. exports. President Obama spoke to the group, noting that forging additional new trade deals has to be an important part of U.S. government efforts to spur economic growth and create jobs.
