Founded in 1888, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is the oldest and most influential business association in Los Angeles County. Representing a diverse membership of nearly 1,600 businesses, the Los Angeles Area Chamber serves the needs of business through a wide variety of programs and advocacy initiatives. For nearly 120 years, the Los Angeles Area Chamber has helped to shape the region we live in today. The Chamber worked with the motion picture industry to make Hollywood the world-renowned home of the stars. The Chamber helped secure water resources from the Owens Valley and Colorado River to our region. And, the Chamber lobbied for Federal assistance in dredging the largest man-made harbor in the world out of the mud flats at San Pedro, developing Los Angeles into a port city. Today, the Chamber continues to shape the region through its strategic initiatives and advocacy efforts surrounding key issues facing Southern California.
By being the voice of business, helping its members grow and promoting collaboration, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce seeks full prosperity for the Los Angeles region. As a trustee for the current and future welfare of the region, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce champions economic prosperity and quality of life.
