LA Hearing Feb. 12 on EZ Program Reforms

The CA Department of Housing and Community Development is holding a series of hearings – including one in LA on February 12 – on proposed statewide reforms to the California Enterprise Zone Program – please consider submitting written comments and/or attending one of these key hearings to help shape the future of the vital EZ program.

Read more about the issue here. The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. notes that the proposed reform themes right now are:

1.    Increasing voucher application fees

2.    Eliminating retroactive vouchering

3.    Streamlining vouchering for hard-to-hire categories (e.g., veterans, disabled, etc.)

4.    Eliminating self-certification for voucher applications

5.    Collecting additional data about program

6.    Creating audit procedures
