June 20:Exposition Light Rail opens to Culver City.
June 28:Metro’s Board votes to prepare a 30-year extension of Measure R for the November ballot, and Congress approves MAP-21, the 2-year federal transportation bill.
June 29:Orange BRT Line extension to Chatsworth opens.
June 29:President Obama signs MAP-21, which maintains current levels of transportation funding and includes America Fast Forward, the low-interest loan program that can help accelerate Measure R.
July 2:Metro announces that FTA has certified the Regional Connector as having met all federal environmental guidelines, allowing Metro to begin discussions with FTA to secure a Full Funding Grant Agreement.
July 3:California Senate approves Senator Michael Feuer’s AB 1446 authorizing Metro to seek voter support for an extension of Measure R.
July 5:Senator Barbara Boxer holds a press conference in LA to celebrate passage of MAP-21.
July 6:California Senate approves release of funds for high speed rail, including nearly $1 billion for Metrolink upgrades.
